Holy Holy Holy

Wandering Los Angeles of a saturday night, I just saw the astonishingly moving Allen Ginsberg biopic, 'Howl', written and directed by Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman. One always appreciates it when an artist uses their work to educate people, but I feel even more grateful when art is used to induce a state. That's what Ginsberg's epic poem does, and what this film does, too. I know there are some who believe there will be 72 virgins waiting for them in heaven (who, by the way, will be crap in bed, being virgins). I just say: may we all be played by James Franco after our deaths.
